Blake Lively: Outrage after viral interview

Blake Lively has sparked a new controversy surrounding the film “Just One More Time”. Fans criticize her behavior in an interview.

Shortly after the US theatrical release of “Just One More Time”, Blake Lively (36) has to face criticism for an interview from 2016. The discussions on the Internet were sparked by the journalist Kjersti Flaa (51), who interviewed Lively and Parker Posey (55). The clip quickly collected 1.6 million views. The assumption that she took the drama surrounding the film couple Lively and Justin Baldoni (40) as an opportunity to…

Inappropriate statements?

The video title “The Blake Lively Interview That Made Me Want to Quit My Job” speaks volumes. In the video description, Flaa explained that it was “the most awkward interview situation” of her career. The reason for this was comments made by the actress. At the beginning, Flaa congratulated Lively on her pregnancy. The lead actress in the Colleen Hoover film promptly replied, “Congratulations on your little belly.”

The mood didn’t brighten up as the conversation progressed. When Flaas asked if the two actresses liked their costumes in “Café Society” (2016), Lively was less than pleased. “Everyone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes,” she replied, and then delved into a conversation with Posey instead.

In the video description, Flaa asked, “Is it not OK to congratulate someone on their pregnancy or ask another woman about the costumes they wear in a movie?” She received plenty of support in the comments. “This reminded me of when I was bullied in high school,” one person wrote. “When she immediately acted like she was offended by the question about the clothes? Crazy behavior. She really shows her true colors,” another viewer agreed.

Journalist knew nothing about the drama

As the journalist told TMZ, she uploaded the video because a colleague had a similar experience with a celebrity. She also hoped to prevent further conversations of this kind in the future. “I find it a bit offensive that she said that to me. That was strange behavior for me,” she shared her thoughts. However, she did not share the clip because of another controversy, as fans suspected. She said she knew nothing about the drama between Lively and Baldoni.

Rumors of a rift between the cast and Baldoni arose after he was not seen in photos with the rest of the cast. In addition, Lively and author Colleen Hoover, among others, are not following the actor and director of the film on Instagram. “The main actors and Colleen Hoover want nothing to do with him,” an anonymous source said. Differences in post-production led to two different versions of the film.

Criticism of Lively’s marketing strategy

Blake Lively was previously criticized for her promotion of the film, in which domestic violence is the main theme. Online, film fans complained that Lively’s colorful floral outfits at public appearances conveyed a misleading image and marketed the film as a funny romantic comedy. “I love you Blake, but you are definitely insensitive. The marketing of this film is an absolute slap in the face to every woman who has experienced domestic violence,” read one of the comments.

Justin Baldoni, on the other hand, was praised by fans for adding a contact point for victims of domestic violence in his Instagram bio. He addressed the core of the film. “The only one who is committed to raising awareness of domestic violence. Justin deserves better,” wrote one person under the interview excerpt on Instagram. Baldoni plays Ryle in the romantic drama, who becomes violent towards the protagonist Lily Bloom.
