Thousands celebrate the US singer Ashnikko and the Austrian rock band Bilderbuch in front of a picturesque industrial backdrop in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg.
The pop and art festival MS Dockville is taking place against an industrial backdrop in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. A total of more than 55,000 guests are expected by Sunday. The headliner on Friday evening was the Austrian pop band Bilderbuch. “Let’s just be happy together today,” singer Maurice Ernst called out to the crowd.
The British band The Vaccines got the crowd dancing with sixties rock. London-based US singer Ashnikko delivered a visually strong performance with experimental electropop at her only appearance in Germany this year.
The MS Dockville offers not only music, but also art. Ten new urban art works have been created on the site for the festival. There are also workshops.
Various DJs will be playing music on various dance floors until late at night. The program until Sunday includes performances by the techno brass band Meute, the songwriter Zoe Wees, the punk band Goat Girl and the rapper Disarstar.
