French actor Alain Delon has died at the age of 88. As his three children Alain Fabien, Anouchka and Anthony announced in a joint statement to the AFP news agency on Sunday morning, the legendary French film star died “peacefully in his house in Douchy” south of Paris at the age of 88. The family asks that their privacy be respected “in this extremely painful moment of grief”.

Delon had been in poor health since 2019. At that time, he had suffered several strokes and a brain hemorrhage and had not recovered since. In an interview in 2021, Delon, who enjoyed great success as an actor and film producer, spoke out in favor of euthanasia.
