French film star Alain Delon died at the age of 88 on Sunday at his home in Douchy, Loiret.
France’s film legend Alain Delon (1935-2024) died today (18 August) in his house in Douchy, Loiret. His children Alain-Fabien (30), Anouchka (33) and Anthony (59) announced the sad news in a statement to the French news agency AFP and included his last dog Loubo in their great grief. “He passed away peacefully in his house in Douchy surrounded by his three children and his family,” it said, as reported by “Paris Match” and others.
The award-winning artist, born on November 8, 1935 in Sceaux in the northern French region of Île-de-France, was 88 years old.
Alain Delon: His career and love
Alain Delon began his film career in 1957 with a role in “The Killers”. Just one year later, the film “Christine” (1958) sealed his reputation as a heartthrob. During this filming, he also met Romy Schneider (1938-1982) for the first time, who became his partner. They had a headline-grabbing love affair from 1959 to 1964. Delon and Schneider appeared together in “The Swimming Pool” (1969) and “The Girl and the Murderer” (1972), among others.

Alain Delon only stood in front of the altar once, with the French actress Nathalie Delon (1941-2021), with whom he also played in “The Cruel Intention”. The two were married from 1964 to 1968.
