David Schumacher on the parental dispute: It apparently doesn’t bother him

While Cora and Ralf Schumacher argue publicly after his coming out, his son David concentrates on racing, as he says.

While the ex-couple Cora (47) and Ralf Schumacher (49) are engaged in a bitter war of roses of a somewhat different kind, their son, young racing driver David Schumacher (22), appears unburdened by the disputes.

“I have nothing to do with it, it doesn’t stick in my head. And as soon as the visor is closed or the door is shut, it’s all about driving and nothing else,” the 22-year-old explained to the broadcaster “RTL” at the weekend. In the Prototype Cup Germany race at the Nürburgring, David Schumacher and his father confidently beat the competition. The father-son duo were unbeatable on the Nürburgring on both Saturday and Sunday. Ralf Schumacher celebrated a successful racing comeback after a break of almost twelve years.

Ralf and Cora Schumacher were married from 2001 to 2015, but had been living apart since 2009. In the year of their wedding, they also became parents of their son David Schumacher. In July 2024, Ralf Schumacher made his love affair with Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne public. “The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything,” said Schumacher.

Since then, the conflict between Ralf and Cora Schumacher, which has been simmering for some time, has become increasingly louder.

Argument after coming out

that she only found out that Ralf was in a relationship with Étienne after his public coming out. Ralf then presented a photo on Instagram from last year in which Cora congratulated Étienne because she probably thought the two had gotten married.

“With all this back and forth, I would like to make it clear that Cora congratulated us in September (beginning of October) 2023 because she thought we had gotten married. She was also happy, as you can see from this message to Étienne personally. I think it’s a shame for Étienne and me that she spreads so many lies. We both just want to be left in peace,” Ralf Schumacher wrote.

Cora Schumacher responded bitterly: “How pathetic must a person be to illegally publish private WhatsApp messages in order to conceal the truth.”

Ralf Schumacher: “I already made that clear last year around Easter”

Ralf Schumacher now told the broadcaster “RTL” why the dispute is being played out so publicly: “Why did I speak out? Well, I do think that it is always important to stick to the truth. And everyone around me knew that. In this case, I made that clear last year around Easter, so I’m a bit surprised,” he explained.
