Fans of one of the most anticipated projects of HBO have just received the most anticipated news so far. On their personal account X, Timothy Goodeditor of The Last of Usconfirmed that the second season of the successful video game adaptation has officially finished filming.
Good has previously worked on other projects such as Fringe, The Umbrella Academy and Gossip Girland is now ready to bring The Last of Us season 2 over the finish line now that the cast has wrapped their work on set, barring any reshoots. HBO recently released the first trailer for The Last of Us season 2, indicating that filming wasn’t far from complete, and now, exactly two weeks later, the stars are free to move on to other projects.
What is known about season two of The Last of Us
The second season of The Last of Us will bring back several of its surviving stars, including Peter Pascal and Bella Ramsey who return as Joel and Ellie, respectively, but the second greatly expanded chapter in the story of Neil Druckmann introduces several new characters and cast members.
One of the biggest additions in Season 2 is Abby, the WLF (Washington Liberation Front) soldier played by Kaitlyn Dever. Dever’s co-star, Isabella Mercedwho will play Ellie’s love interest Dina in Season 2, recently revealed that Dever required additional security on set, due to her character being so hated among the fanbase. Laura Bailey She played Abby in The Last of Us Part 2, and dealt with unbearable backlash and harassment, including death threats, all for playing a fictional character opposite a beloved protagonist in Ellie.
