Taylor Swift met with survivors of the fatal knife attack in late July in London. A mother shared sweet pictures.
This meeting must have been particularly touching for Taylor Swift (34): The singer invited survivors of the fatal knife attack in Southport and their families backstage at one of her “Eras Tour” shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. The girls’ mother, Sami Foster, shared photos of the meeting.
In the photos, Taylor Swift, in a glittery bodysuit, and her mother Andrea pose with Foster and her two daughters, Autumn and Hope. “The biggest thank you to Taylor Swift and her mom for making the most magical night possible for all of us,” wrote Foster, adding Swift’s “Cardigan” lyrics, “You drew stars around my scars.” In one photo, one of the girls can be seen wearing a bandage with the same line on it.
Taylor Swift contacted families
It is not known whether Taylor Swift met with other survivors or families of the massacre during her five London concerts. However, according to media reports, she privately contacted the families of the killed girls before the shows.
In the knife attack in the English town of Southport on July 29, an attacker killed three participants in a Taylor Swift dance class aged between six and nine. Eight other children and two adults were injured.
Swift took to Instagram on July 30, writing: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is still overwhelming me and I am just in complete shock… The loss of life and innocence and the horrific trauma inflicted on everyone present, the families and the first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I don’t even know how to express my condolences to the families.”
