“It was fun to play in this sort of sandbox for two movies, but I think we’ve said what we wanted to say in this world,” he said, seemingly confirming that the upcoming sequel will be led by Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will see the end of the world he has built.


What Joker 2: Folie à Deux is about
In Joker: Folie à Deux, Phoenix will reprise his role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, while Lady Gaga will take on the role of Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, a version of Harley Quinn. The film will not be a straightforward psychological drama like the first one, but will instead take the form of a rock and roll musical.

Recently, Lady Gaga spoke about what to expect from Folie à Deux: “There is music, there is dancing, it is a drama, it is also a courtroom drama, it is a comedy, it is joyful, it is sad. It is a testament to [Todd] As a director, I would rather be creative than just tell a traditional love story.”
