Musicians Nelly and Ashanti are happy to welcome a new addition to their family. Their child was born just one month ago.
The musicians Nelly (49) and Ashanti (43), a dream couple of the 2000s, have become parents. The singer and actress announced the happy news on Instagram on August 21. A spokesperson for the couple said: “Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their little son Kareem Kenkaide Haynes on July 18, 2024. The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK.” The birth was about a month ago.
Ashanti: “I am so proud of my body”
On Instagram, Ashanti shared a photo and video of herself. “Four weeks postpartum. You have no idea what this body can do,” she explains in the clip. “I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,” .
Nelly and Ashanti announced in April that they were expecting a child. It is Ashanti’s first child and rapper Nelly’s third biological child. He is also the adoptive father of the two children of his sister Jackie Donahue (1973 – 2005), who died of leukemia.
In June of this year, it was also made public that the couple has been married since December 27, 2023. They had previously confirmed in September 2023 that they had reunited ten years after their separation. The music stars originally got together in 2003, but separated in 2013 after ten years of being together.
