“Full House” star Bob Saget, 65, found dead in a hotel room in Florida

As Danny Tanner in the sitcom “Full House” he advanced to America’s meek TV model father between 1987 and 1995, as a stand-up comedian he was known for his sharp, in contrast to his star role, by no means adult joke. On Sunday evening, Bob Saget was found dead in an Orlando hotel room. He was 65 years old. The cause of death was initially unknown. However, the police found neither drugs nor indications of third-party negligence. The case rests with forensic medicine.

Just a few hours earlier, Saget was still on stage in Jacksonville with his current solo program “I Don ?? t Do Negative”. After the two-hour appearance, he thanked his fans on Twitter (see facsimile on the right). The tour should have lasted until June. Saget, who has been married to the presenter Kelly Rizzo for the second time since 2018, leaves three children behind.

In the United States, Philadelphia-born Saget was popular not only for his “Full House” role, but also as a presenter (“America’s Funniest Home Videos”). In the series “How I Met Your Mother” he voiced an aged version of the main character Ted Mosby. Saget’s heart, however, belonged to cabaret. His comedy album “That’s What I’m Talkin ‘About” even received a Grammy nomination in 2014.

“I’m completely in shock”

After the death announcement became known, numerous expressions of condolences arrived. “I’m completely in shock. I’ll never have a boyfriend like him again. I love you so much, Bobby,” tweeted Saget’s “Full House” colleague John Stamos. Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg also expressed condolences as did actors Jim Carrey and Billy Crystal. The latter wrote that Saget was “a great friend and one of the funniest and most loving people I have known”.
