Reader’s Day: 300 thousand poems will be released throughout the country in homage to Jorge Luis Borges

Next Saturday, August 24th, the celebration of Reader’s Day in honor of the anniversary of the birth of Jorge Luis Borges.

The El Libro Foundation and the Argentine Society of Writers (SADE), with the support of Celulosa Argentina, will carry out a special action that day in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the great Argentine writer: More than 300 thousand postcards with poems will be given away of established and contemporary Argentine authors from all over the country.

This initiative will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the meeting points are as follows:

  • Santa Fe and Callao;
  • Currents and Florida;
  • Town council and oath;
  • San Juan and Boedo
  • Flower Square

The public will be able to encounter works by The film stars Jorge Luis Borges, Alejandra Pizarnik, Julio Cortazar, Alfonsina Storni, Leopoldo Lugones and Silvina Ocampo.

Poems will be distributed throughout the country at SADE headquarters
