Did singer Melanie Müller give the Hitler salute? The public prosecutor says yes. The 36-year-old denies the accusation. Now the last day of the trial is approaching – surprisingly with the defendant.
The verdict is to be pronounced today in the trial involving accusations of giving the Hitler salute against pop singer Melanie Müller. She unexpectedly appeared at the trial at the Leipzig District Court this morning. According to the judge’s previous statements, she actually no longer had to appear in person.
According to the district court, the questioning of a witness and the closing arguments are planned first. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the now 36-year-old is said to have shown the Hitler salute several times at a concert in September 2022. The prosecution accuses Müller of using symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
Drug possession is also an issue, after 0.69 grams of cocaine mixture and an ecstasy tablet were found during a search of Müller’s apartment in Leipzig. At the start of the trial, the former RTL jungle queen denied all charges. Müller is presumed innocent until a final conviction.
Müller was born in Oschatz, Saxony. In 2014, she won the eighth season of the RTL jungle show “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” and has since appeared in numerous TV formats. She performs as a pop singer in Mallorca, among other places.
