Jennifer Lopez once revealed in an interview that she is a “love addict”. The musician has already married four times. A few days ago she filed for divorce from her fourth husband, filmmaker Ben Affleck.

This reveals what caused the two to split. “Irreconcilable differences” were the reason, reports “Page Six” after viewing the documents. Lopez stated that they separated on April 26th of this year. The files also make it clear that Lopez is neither demanding child support herself nor is trying to pay any to Affleck. According to “TMZ”, the court documents do not reveal whether the two have signed a prenuptial agreement.

Lopez also stated that she wanted to drop Affleck’s last name. After marrying the actor, her official name was Jennifer Lynn Affleck, but she continued to be known publicly as Jennifer Lopez. “People will continue to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs. Affleck because we belong together,” she told Vogue magazine in November 2022, a few months after the wedding. “We are husband and wife. I’m proud of it. I don’t think that’s a problem,” she said.
She wants to drop his name
At the time, Lopez called the move to take her husband’s name “romantic” and “traditional.” Rumors about the state of Lopez and Affleck’s marriage had been circulating for several weeks. While she spent her summer on the east coast, specifically in the Hamptons, Affleck was primarily on the west coast of the USA in Los Angeles. The actor also did not show up for Lopez’s big “Bridgerton”-themed birthday party at the end of July.
After splitting up for the first time in 2004, Lopez and Affleck found each other again more than 15 years later. They married a short time later, and now they’re splitting up two years later.
