Jon Voight asks son-in-law Brad Pitt to put an end to the “nonsense.” He hopes for a quick divorce from daughter Angelina Jolie.
Jon Voight (85) hopes for an early end to the divorce war between his daughter Angelina Jolie (49) and her still-husband Brad Pitt (60). The actor is asking his still-son-in-law to end the fight. “I wish it were over,” Voight told “Fox News Digital.” “It’s hard. I wish they could find a way to make peace.” Voight describes the situation as “hard.”
The two Hollywood stars have been engaged in a legal battle since filing for divorce in 2016, which is said to be primarily about their former shared vineyard in the south of France.
Brad Pitt “must stop this nonsense”
For Jon Voight, however, the couple’s six children, his grandchildren – Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18) and the twins Vivienne and Knox (16) – are the biggest concern. “I think the kids need a little stability,” said Jon Voight. “I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad Pitt to step up and do what he has to do and put an end to this nonsense.”
Jolie and Pitt’s children have also apparently taken their mother’s side. It was recently announced that their daughter Shiloh received permission from a court to drop her father’s surname and to be called “Jolie”. She submitted the application just a few days after her 18th birthday.
The eldest daughter, Zahara, introduced herself at the university in November 2023 as “Zahara Marley Jolie”, and daughter Vivienne appeared as “Vivienne Jolie” in the theater program of a Broadway musical in which she had participated in May 2024. The sons Maddox and Pax are also said to have no contact with Brad Pitt.
Jolie and Pitt met and fell in love while filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005. After getting engaged in 2012, the couple married in France in 2014. In September 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce. In 2019, the two were declared “legally single”.
