In this romantic comedy, Jennifer Lopez played the lead role of Charlie Cantilini, while Jane Fonda played her future mother-in-law, Viola Fields. A large part of Jennifer Lopez’s life revolved around Ben Affleck, and in 2021 they entered into a relationship for the second time in almost 20 years. This time they got married and in the past few days it was announced that the marriage failed. Jennifer Lopez is said to have filed for divorce. But apparently her long-time friend Fonda had concerns in advance, which she had expressed in the documentary. The 86-year-old said benevolently: “I want you to know that – I don’t know exactly why – I care about you and Ben and I really, really, really want this to work.”
But she has “concerns” that the couple is focusing too much on the public impact of some kind of fairytale romance and too little on themselves, the “true and real” part of their relationship. “It feels very much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living,” Fonda told Lopez. “You know, every other photo is of the two of you kissing and hugging.”
At the time, Lopez laughed off Fonda’s concerns and defended her behavior, saying that we were “just living our lives.” But in the end, Jane Fonda apparently had a sixth sense that this love revival was on shaky ground.
