Eva Schernhammer, a Nurse’s Health Study investigator and an adjunct professor of epidemiology at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Harvardconducted an investigation into how women relate to anxiety and depression with dogs and puppies.

The effect of a dog’s company on women
Attachment to dogs was associated with a reduction of depressionthe anxiety and the general symptoms of these disorders, especially among survivors of abuse. This study is part of a larger one to examine the Human-animal interactionespecially with pets.
In addition, it has been proven that having dogs improves cardiovascular health, mood and stress, and increases regular physical activity with walks in the fresh air.
