RTL “Summer Jungle Camp”: Day eleven in the jungle: An exodus and a severed toe

On day eleven in the RTL jungle camp, there is a lot going on again: three candidates argue fiercely about the test – and then there is the discussion about a cut off toe.

For Giulia Siegel, it’s the end of the legend. The 49-year-old is out of the RTL summer jungle. With seven to one votes, the other candidates in the episode of “I’m a Celebrity – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” released on Sunday on RTL+ decided more than clearly against the daughter of composer Ralph Siegel – and for reality star Gigi Birofio (25). “The most spectacular seven to one since the 2014 World Cup semi-final,” commented presenter Jan Köppen, referring to the legendary victory of the German national football team against Brazil.

Gemsbok heart became fatal

The two had become candidates for elimination because they had failed their eating test in the previous episode and had not managed to completely swallow a gemsbok heart (Siegel) or a tarantula in gelatine (Birofio).

“When you get out, you will be helped”

Only Siegel’s girlfriend Georgina Fleur wanted the Munich DJ to keep her company in the South African jungle. After various arguments about breaking the rules, a possibly wrapped sanitary pad and, above all, the daily cooking, everyone else preferred that Siegel leave.

Even her self-proclaimed friend, presenter Mola Adebisi, spoke out against Siegel and justified this in a complicated and flimsy way with the 49-year-old’s “cough”: “When you’re out, you’ll get help.” Birofio suspected cowardice: “Georgina is right about the small balls.”

Stasi and the building of the Wall

Others were more explicit about Siegel: “That was the best nomination of all time,” rejoiced reality star Elena Miras. Sarah Knappik, who was still outraged that Siegel had compared her way of carrying out her role as camp director to Stasi methods, spoke of karma and responded with an analogy to the GDR dictatorship: she “simply had to put up my wall there.”

“What a shit”

The person who was thrown out initially looked at the ground, relatively embarrassed and largely motionless, while her fellow campers explained their desire to move out – but then burst into angry tears when it was announced that she actually had to stay in the jungle for another night: “What a load of crap.” But she still couldn’t really believe it, and seemed to be hoping for a plot twist until the very end – and was disappointed.

The thing with the cut off toe

What else happened: A cut-off toe also caused controversy. Georgina Fleur reported that she had one of her toes cut off because it was longer than her big toe and she suffered from this flaw: “I had a real complex.” Mola Adebisi’s reaction: “By far the most stupid cosmetic surgery I have ever heard of.”

Dispute after jungle test

But it wasn’t just her shortened toe that caused the 34-year-old to find herself at the centre of a discussion. After she had completed another jungle test together with Sarah Knappik and Kader Loth, there was stress – even though she had previously overcome crocodiles on her own and secured five stars for the team of three.

“Laber-inth of Terror”

The three candidates had initially agreed that Kader should not enter the “Laber-inth of Horror” at all and that they would have to make do with Georgina’s stars because all the stars would have been lost if she had not made it out in time.

But Knappik and Loth seemed to have completely forgotten that when they returned to the camp. They claimed that Fleur wanted to master the test on her own in order to make them look bad – much to Fleur’s dismay, who seems to have moved into the crosshairs of expulsion after Siegel’s departure.
