Former professional Regina Halmich will show no mercy in her fight against entertainer Stefan Raab: “It’s only man against woman that counts.” Laura Wontorra will lead the spectacle directly from the ring.
Laura Wontorra will report from the ring during the exhibition match between entertainer Stefan Raab and former boxing world champion Regina Halmich. This was announced by RTL. The station will broadcast the spectacle live from Düsseldorf on September 14th. RTL+ will also be broadcasting live.
“In addition to the former boxing world champions Dariusz Michalczewski and Firat Arslan, numerous other celebrities will be represented in the Golden Circle. The top event will be hosted by Elton, and the commentator will be Frank “Buschi” Buschmann.” No one knows what the approximately 14,000 spectators in the hall and the millions of viewers in front of the television can expect, according to RTL.
According to the statement, Regina Halmich has also been getting herself into top shape for her last fight for months: “I’m currently training several times a week, which is a bit like it used to be. My goal is to be the better boxer and Stefan, of course, the better entertainer. He has chosen a difficult path for his comeback, because there is no fun in the ring. Even if we like and respect each other, there will be no mercy, it’s just man against woman.”
Raab has been working behind the scenes since 2015
Raab is returning to television with the boxing match after a long absence from the screen. In 2015, he largely withdrew from the public eye. Since then, he has been working behind the scenes. In 2018, he appeared in a stage show in Cologne, but it was not broadcast on television.
The former TV presenter (57, “TV total”) has already boxed against Halmich (47) twice – in 2001 and 2007. In both fights the Cologne native lost, once breaking his nose. The first two encounters were broadcast by ProSieben. The latest exhibition fight in Düsseldorf’s PSD Bank Dome is called “The Clark Final Fight”.
