“Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert has spoken openly about her cancer. One thing was particularly frustrating for her.
In January, “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert (52) announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2023. The actress is currently “doing well” again. “I’m in a kind of gray area, I’ve completed my treatment, I’m waiting for further tests and hopefully an operation,” she said at the premiere of “After Baywatch: Moment in The Sun” in Los Angeles on Monday (August 26).

In the interview, the actress also revealed what has been the most difficult thing for her in the past few months. “You have to wait a lot and that’s something I wasn’t really aware of and that no one really talks about,” said Eggert. “But the grey area is the hardest thing because you don’t know what’s going to happen. And when I’m in treatment, I feel like I’m doing something productive.”
Waiting was “frustrating,” she added. One thing that helped her was “a lot of meditation.” She also consulted a shaman. “I do what I can, whatever I can. Whether I go for a walk or meditate – I do anything to distract myself,” said Eggert, who appeared at the premiere in LA with her platinum blonde hair cut very short.
Your greatest motivation
Her daughters Dilyn (25) and Keegan (13) also kept Eggert on her toes. They handled the diagnosis “really well” and didn’t give her any special treatment. “They kept things alive. And that’s what I really loved about both of them. They both acted as if nothing was going to change. As if the days would just stay the way they are.”
In addition to her children, the new “Baywatch” documentary series, in which Eggert appears and which she co-produced, was also a “great distraction”. “That was a great motivation for me not to just sit and think about my health. It gave me a purpose.”
Nicole Eggert played the role of lifeguard Summer Quinn in the television series “Baywatch” from 1992 to 1994. In 2003, she also appeared in the television film “Baywatch – Wedding in Hawaii”. In the documentary series “After Baywatch”, the former stars of the cult series have their say and previously unseen behind-the-scenes material is shown.
