The series is a reinterpretation of the cult thriller by bestselling author Frederick Forsyth (86) from 1971, which was already filmed in 1973 with Edward Fox (87) and in 1997 with Bruce Willis (69) in the title role. The story centers on a notorious professional killer who is commissioned to murder a high-ranking politician.
