  • You should wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or disinfect them with 70% alcohol gel, and keep your fingernails trimmed.
  • It is essential that you do not share dishes, cutlery, clothing, sheets, bath towels, toiletries (such as toothbrushes, razors, etc.) or sex toys with other people.
  • You should identify people with whom you had close contact (more than one hour without a mask and physical contact) up to three weeks before contracting monkeypox and mention them to health personnel.
  • When sweeping, care must be taken not to spread dry contaminated material from the lesions.
  • You should frequently disinfect surfaces and objects in shared areas with 70% alcohol or a bleach solution.
  • It is crucial to avoid physical contact (such as hugging, kissing, or sexual intercourse) until you are fully recovered.
  • You should keep your pet away from you to avoid the risk of transmitting the virus to them.
  • You should avoid contact with people with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, young children and the elderly, as they are more vulnerable to complications.

  • All surfaces in the bedroom and bathroom should be cleaned and disinfected with bleach water or alcohol.
