Bruce Willis has retired from acting in 2022. His daughter Tallulah talks about his current health condition.
Tallulah Willis (30) gives an update on her father, former action hero Bruce Willis (69),’s battle with frontotemporal dementia. In an interview with “E! News” she also talks about her love for her father, who suffers from dementia, and how the family supports each other.
Tallulah Willis: “I know he knows how much I love him”
The youngest daughter of the “Die Hard” star and his then-wife Demi Moore (61) reports that there has been no change in her father, which is “a good thing” in his situation. “Our visits have so much love and I feel that,” says Tallulah, explaining that for her that encompasses everything.
She has a close connection with her father. “I know he knows how much I love him. I know how much he loves me – I know how much he loves all of us,” she raves. Although the 30-year-old adds how difficult this path is for her family and for everyone who goes through something similar, she stresses that Bruce’s health has created “an opportunity for more love for my family.” The actress occasionally posts snapshots with her dad that show this closeness.
Bruce Willis retired from his decades-long acting career and from the public eye in March 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, an acquired central language disorder caused by brain damage. In February 2023, his family announced that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
A “higher level of communication”
According to Tallulah Willis, the experience with her sick father has not only led to more love in her family. She also says that they now have a “higher level of communication”. Now everyone talks about what is needed in a situation. “In the past, I have […] maybe distant or disconnected. Now there is a larger vocabulary that we have all learned and can use seamlessly with each other.”
Just a few days ago, Tallulah’s sister Rumer (36) also commented on the former actor’s health. During a question and answer session, she explained: “He’s doing great. I love him so much.”
