Riccardo Simonetti has said yes. The entertainer shares several photos and shows his husband’s face for the first time.
Riccardo Simonetti (31) has said “yes”! The entertainer married his partner Steven on August 29th in Mallorca. Simonetti took his more than 500,000 followers along with him virtually live. He also showed off his new girlfriend, who apparently took the surname Simonetti after the wedding, after around four years of being together.
“I spent most of my life thinking that marriage was out of the question for me because I didn’t grow up with many gay couples around me,” writes Riccardo Simonetti about the first picture of them together as “husband & husband”. It was only through his Steven that he “realized that unconditional love exists and that people like you and me deserve it just as much as anyone else.”
He is “lucky to marry the most wonderful man I have ever met in my life,” Simonetti continued. “Steven, you are a gift to every room you walk into, you make every single person fall in love with you, and you chose ME to be your husband? What a privilege!”
“Absolute dream look”
Riccardo Simonetti shares more pictures and details of the wedding celebration, including the wedding outfits. Both grooms wore white suits – Steven opted for a look by Boss. Riccardo wore a specially designed Kaviar Gauche model with cut-out details and no sleeves as well as a long cape. It was his “absolute dream look”, Vogue quoted him as saying. They both also wore pocket squares with their initials in pink.
For styling, Riccardo Simonetti opted for an updo with gelled water waves and a natural make-up look. Simonetti describes his husband’s look as “like something from the eighties with his haircut and his retro glasses”.
These guests were there
It was important to the two of them that only their closest friends and family were present at the wedding. So they chose a location that belongs to a couple they are friends with. They also decided on an unusual dress code: “all-white”. “We don’t have a bride, so I thought it would be nice if everyone could be a bride on the day,” explains Simonetti.
Among the guests was Sylvie Meis (46), who had been married the day before. Presenter Palina Rojinski (39) not only gave a speech for the newlyweds, but also caught the “bridal bouquet” that Simonetti threw into the crowd. Model Bonnie Strange (38) explained in an Instagram story that she had “never seen so many guests cry as today. From start to finish.” Also present were presenter Aminata Belli (32) and influencer Farina Opoku (33). Simonetti’s mother, whose wedding dress from the 1980s inspired the design of his suit, can also be seen in several videos.
The Simonettis were married by drag queen Barbie Breakout. But some traditional customs were also part of the celebration: for example, they smashed a glass after saying “I do” and were lifted into the air by their guests on chairs – both Jewish wedding rituals.
