In recent years, Anja Schüte has concentrated on caring for her mother. Now, almost 60, she wants to work more again.
Anja Schüte (59) is thoughtful about her upcoming 60th birthday on September 2nd. She thinks the round number is “really stupid,” she said in an interview with “Bild am Sonntag.” The reason for this: “Especially after the death of both parents, now I’m in the front row and I’m the oldest in our family. That makes you think about the fact that life isn’t infinite.”
She wants to spend her special day with her Norwegian husband Petter (67) and her son Hendrik (33, from her marriage to pop singer Roland Kaiser, 72) in Hamburg. “Afterwards we will fly to Mallorca to relax.”
She stopped accepting roles
For a long time, Anja Schüte was one of Germany’s best-known actresses. She started her career in 1980 with the film “Zärtliche Cousinen” and then appeared in many TV productions such as “Die Wicherts von nebenan” and “Forsthaus Falkenau”. In recent years, however, things have been quieter for her – for good reason. The actress cared for her mother, who fought cancer for 40 years. On April 3, Elke Schüte died at the age of 86. A loss that hit the TV star hard. In an interview, however, she revealed that she firmly believes she will see her parents again after they die.
Her son also gives her strength. “He just visited my husband and me in Norway. It’s good for me to spend time with my family, they are more important to me than anything else,” Anja Schüte said in an interview. “In recent years, I have put all my focus on my mother. I promised her that I wouldn’t leave her alone.” She wanted to be with her “until it’s over.” Two years ago, she even moved back to her parents’ house. She is “infinitely grateful” to her husband, who travels a lot for work as a shipowner, for supporting her in this wish. “Without him, I wouldn’t have managed any of this. I withdrew from my job and stopped taking on roles because I didn’t want to be away from my mother for weeks on end because of filming.”
She wants to learn Norwegian for her husband
But now she is rearranging her life, has moved out of her mother’s house with her brother and has new plans for the next few years: “I want to work again and I will take better care of myself.” For example, she wants to play more golf and travel. And she has another plan: “I will give my husband the gift of learning the Norwegian language properly.”
