The Vehicle Technical Verification will increase by more than 70% in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This was decided through Resolution 91/2024 published in the Official Gazette last Wednesday, September 28, the Government ratified a new increase in the value of the control for cars, motorcycles and other vehicles as of September 1.

In CABA, the VTV is mandatory for cars and motorcycles that are between 4 and 7 years old since they were registered. Drivers who have to undergo the VTV in this jurisdiction pay $38,014.57, while for motorcycles the amount is $14,293.73.

What documentation do I need to process the VTV?
To perform the VTV you have to Submit the following documents without exception some:
- Valid ID.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Current vehicle insurance.
- Proof of payment corresponding to the appointment reservation.
- If you have a vehicle: green or blue ID card (in case a third party is present).
- If you have a motorcycle: green and/or pink ID card (in case a third party is present).
Cost of VTV in September 2024
For the month of September, the VTV in CABA will have the following value:
- Motorcycles: $10,359.35
- Cars and light vehicles up to 2,500 kg: $34,531.17
- Heavy vehicles weighing more than 2,500 kg: $62,156.10
- Trailers, semi-trailers and trailers up to 2,500 kg: $17,265.58
- Trailers, semi-trailers and trailers weighing more than 2,500 kg: $31,078.06
VTV discount: who can access it
At the same time that it was decided to increase the value of the VTV, the Special 50% Bonus in the VTV rate for retirees and pensioners with incomes below two minimum retirement salaries. This is added, along with municipal vehicles, volunteer firefighters and people with disabilities, to the groups that have discounts or are directly exempt from paying.
