It was reported that retirees who have to undergo long-term treatment can submit a form so that the social security system guarantees that the medicines are free of charge.
Throughout 2024, PAMI made certain adjustments to the benefits it offered its members. Among the cuts, one of the most impactful was the “Vivir mejor” program, which guaranteed the free provision of 170 drugs commonly used by senior citizens. These drugs began to have a discount of 80%, 60% or 40%, but were no longer free.
The agency realized that many retirees and pensioners had difficulty accessing all the medicines and so they chose the most necessary one and only took that one. Now, in order to stop this situation, it was announced that people who have to take one or more medications for a long time will be able to access them for free.

How to access 100% coverage on PAMI medications
To access 100% coverage of PAMI medications, the following requirements must be met:
- Retirees with net income less than 1.5 times the minimum pension payment. In the case of households with cohabitants who have a Single Disability Certificate, the total income must be less than 3 times the minimum pension payment.
- Not being associated with a prepaid medical system.
- Not owning more than one property.
- Not having luxury aircraft or boats.
- Do not have a vehicle less than 15 years old.
- Not having corporate assets that demonstrate economic capacity.
