Jessica Alba bought and renovated a house to give to her parents. The home is a very special one.
Father Mark Alba and mother Catherine Jensen knew nothing: Jessica Alba (43) has triggered a touching reaction from her parents with a special gift. “Almost three years ago, I started the project of my dreams: I surprised my parents by buying a house,” writes the actress and entrepreneur, who shows her with her colleague Lizzy Mathis (41) from her own renovation show “Honest Renovations”.
“Grandpa, this is for you”
It wasn’t “just any house,” but “a particularly sentimental one, because it was my grandparents’ house, where my father grew up,” she continues in her post. After her grandfather died, Alba says her parents wanted to sell the house to pay her grandmother’s medical bills. “I pretended to help them renovate it before selling it, when in reality I had planned to buy it for them all along,” the 43-year-old reveals in her post. She still feels a lot of emotions “after keeping this big secret, surprising my parents, and then working for many, many months to make the house perfect. I can’t believe this really happened. Grandpa, this is for you – we love and miss you more than you know.”
shows a first tour of Alba’s house with her parents and Mathis in April 2021 in Claremont, California. After the house had been gutted and the floor plans had been determined, Alba broke the news of the house purchase to her parents during a second visit in June 2021. “Now the house you grew up in belongs to you, Dad,” she tells him. “That’s so nice, Jessica, a big surprise,” says her father, who hugged his daughter and assured her, moved to tears: “He [der Großvater, Anm. d. Red.] would be very proud of you.” In a second part, fans will soon be able to see further work on the house, as Alba reveals in the clip. Some before and after pictures already show the impressive transformation of the home. During the renovation, she tried to “anchor her grandfather and his legacy throughout the house,” Alba explains to her parents.
