In Luca Guadagnino’s new film “Queer,” Daniel Craig can be seen in several sex scenes with a younger man. In Venice, the “James Bond” star gives an insight into the filming.
In his new film, British actor Daniel Craig can be seen in several sex scenes with a younger man. “You know as well as I do that there is nothing intimate about filming a sex scene on a film set,” said the 56-year-old in Venice. “There is a group of people watching you. We just wanted to make it as touching, as real and as natural as possible.”
Craig plays the lead role in “Queer”, the new film by Luca Guadagnino, alongside Drew Starkey (30). Craig, who became a global star with his role as “James Bond”, said of the filming of the erotic scenes: “We just laughed. We tried to make it funny.”
This is what the film “Queer” is about
The film “Queer”, which is in competition at the Venice Film Festival, is based on a story by William S. Burroughs. It centers on Lee (Craig), who navigates his everyday life in 1950s Mexico through drug addiction and erotic encounters with men. One day he meets Eugene (Starkey). Lee falls in love with the boy and the two begin an affair.
But Eugene is much less emotionally involved. The two set off on a trip to South America to search for a psychedelic drug.
