Joshua Jackson publishes a moving moment with his four-year-old daughter on Instagram – and recognizes the achievements of all parents.
“Dawson’s Creek” star Joshua Jackson (46) doesn’t usually reveal much about his private life. It’s all the more surprising that he talks about the joys of being a father and shares an anecdote from everyday life with his daughter Juno: “I’m so grateful that I can be your dada.”
The actor shares a photo of himself smiling and wearing a colorful pearl necklace, as well as an experience he had with his four-year-old daughter. “I wanted to share the story behind this photo,” he writes. “This morning after breakfast, I told my daughter that I was going to do some gardening. She asked if she could come with me, which of course I said yes. […] We were about to go outside when she said, ‘Daddy, I’d rather play inside.'” So Jackson left the little girl with her grandmother and went into the garden alone.
“When I come back in, she hands me this necklace. And she says, ‘Dada, I wanted to stay inside so I could make you a necklace.'” The series actor says he then asked his daughter to take a photo of him with the necklace. He then shares the touching comment the girl made in response: “And as she was snapping the photos, she said, ‘It’s good for you to have a photo so you can always remember that I love you.'” This was the moment “when my heart melted for the millionth time because of this amazing little big girl.”
To every mother and father: “You are doing great”
The actor concludes by praising all parents, “whether with a partner, alone, with a village of blood relatives or a select family” who are raising children. “Keep up the good work. I know there aren’t always such wonderful moments as I experienced today, but you’re doing a great job.” The 46-year-old also shares the fruits of his gardening – a plate full of apricots, tomatoes and lemons, as well as a sprig of rosemary.
Jackson is raising Juno separately from actress Jodie Turner-Smith (37). After about four years of marriage, the latter filed for divorce in October 2023 due to irreconcilable differences, US media reported. A short time later, court documents revealed that the two would like to share custody.
