Sad loss for Robbie Williams and wife Ayda Field Williams: Two of their dogs have died. The four-legged friends even played important roles in the couple’s wedding.
Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field Williams are huge dog lovers, which is evident not least on their Instagram profiles. Now the couple and their four children have to cope with a great loss. At the same time, their dogs Poupette and Walle died. “Today our dogs Poupette and Walle left this planet to begin an adventure in an infinite galaxy far, far away. They died together in bed while listening to ‘Dancing Queen’, surrounded by infinite love,” writes Ayda Field Williams on the photo platform.

And she reveals that she got the dog Poupette 18 years ago. At the time, she was single and suddenly became a “single mother,” as Field Williams writes not entirely seriously. “Everyone who knows me called Poupette ‘my shadow’… because wherever I went, she was right behind me. It’s strange how you can share so much with a being who can’t communicate in the same language. But that’s the beauty of unconditional love… it doesn’t need words,” Field Williams continues.
Six months later, she met Robbie Williams. The pop star had three dogs of his own at the time, but his animals were much bigger than Poupette. “I assumed he would be afraid of the idea of walking a tiny, white, fluffy dog out into the street and calling ‘Poupette’ in a northern English accent,” she recalls. But Williams actually loved her dog just as much as she did. Suddenly, “the big, tattooed pop star” had become a man who loved a small, fluffy dog.

A year later, the now married couple decided to adopt a dog together. Walle, who was similarly small to Poupette, joined the pack. And so the two four-legged friends even played a special role in the wedding of Williams and the US actress in 2010. “Poupette was of course my bridesmaid and Walle was Rob’s best man,” said Field Williams. The couple’s other dogs were also part of their wedding, but had already died before Poupette and Walle.
Field Williams also talks about the couple’s second, secret wedding in her post. “Recently, Rob and I renewed our wedding vows. There are many things we are facing now (more on that another time), and we wanted to celebrate what is good in our lives: family and love,” she writes. Poupette and Walle were also part of the ceremony at their second wedding.
“The last members of the wedding party have left us, but knowing Poupette and Walle, they will throw a great after-party,” Field Williams said in her post.
