New season of “Daniela Katzenberger” on VOX: This is how the TV family ticks

Daniela Katzenberger and her family are one of the most famous TV clans in Germany. Here’s a brief overview to start the new episodes.

Daniela Katzenberger (37) is returning to the station where she started her career 15 years ago. Her new docu-soap with the simple title “Daniela Katzenberger” starts on Friday, September 6th, at 8:15 p.m. on VOX (and already from August 30th). The episodes will not only feature the TV blonde, but also, of course, some members of the headline-grabbing cat clan.

The career of Daniela Katzenberger

The 37-year-old made her breakthrough in 2009 with the docu-soap “Up and Away – My Diary from Abroad” on VOX. At that time, the cameras accompanied her to the USA, where she wanted to visit Hugh Hefner (1926-2017) to become a “Playboy” model. The TV producers quickly recognized her entertainment value, the cat moved to “Goodbye Germany! The Emigrants” and in 2010 received her first own soap titled “Daniela Katzenberger – naturally blond”. The rest is basically TV history – and the Mallorca emigrant has since been a fixture in the celebrity world thanks to books, calendars and show appearances.

Celebrity partner made her even more interesting

At the beginning of her career, the topic of finding a man was also a big topic. In 2014, she found her happiness with singer Lucas Cordalis (57), son of the famous Costa Cordalis (1944-2019). With him, everything happened very quickly: on August 20, 2015, daughter Sophia (9) was born, and in October 2015 they got engaged. Starting a family also gave her a career boost and more docu-soaps on RTLzwei. The cameras accompanied the pregnancy and birth, and the wedding on June 4, 2016 was broadcast live – hosted by Giovanni (46) and Jana Ina Zarrella (47).

The cat and her tomcat appeared as a double act on “Dance, Dance, Dance” in 2016 and on “The Masked Singer” in 2020. They have also sung several duets together.

Her mother and sister also started on TV

Her mother Iris Klein (57) and half-sister Jenny Frankhauser (32) also used the media hype surrounding Daniela Katzenberger to gain a foothold in show business. They were often seen alongside the cat in the soaps – but also in other formats. The former restaurant owner Klein took part in “Big Brother” in 2010, and in 2013 she moved to the jungle camp. In 2023, she dominated the headlines because of the turbulent separation from her husband Peter Klein (57). The ex-couple then met again at the end of the year on “Celebrity Big Brother”. The trained painter and varnisher also became known with the cat clan and tried to make it as a singer. In 2011, he took part in the castings for “X-Factor”. He used the fuss about an alleged affair with Yvonne Woelke (42) for their joint song “Verbotene Liebe”.

Jenny Frankhauser has been on TV since she was 17. Through music and various show formats, she wanted to fight her way out of the big shadow of her famous half-sister, in which she still stands to some extent. In 2018, the now mother of two was able to win the jungle crown on “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” Although family is very important to the Katzenbergers, the relationship between the two sisters has been difficult from time to time. After an argument, there was even radio silence for a long period.

However, they were both there for their mother’s birthday in May and posed together with Iris Klein. The VOX cameras were there too. According to the broadcaster’s announcement, the new season will show the 57-year-old introducing her fiancé Stefan to her children at the party. TV expert Daniela Katzenberger commented on the first meeting with the words: “It’s not that easy for us. You’re marrying the whole family, including the public, the paparazzi and the camera team.”
