The VMAs were originally planned for September 10th. The date was meanwhile chosen as the date for the TV duel between Kamala Harris (59) and Donald Trump (78). Therefore, MTV postponed the awards ceremony by one evening to the historic September 11th, the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in 2001.
