The request was decided by the Civil and Commercial Court No. 3 of Avellaneda. The mayors of Lanús and Quilmes stressed the importance of constructing an accurate diagnosis of the impact of port activity.

The Mayors of Lanús and Quilmes, Julian Alvarez and Mayra Mendozasubmitted to the Court a request for information on the economic activity of the Consortium Dock Sud Port with the aim of determining the impact of Port logistics in both municipalities of the province of Buenos Aires.

The order was drawn on Civil and Commercial Court No. 3 of Avellaneda and to this extent, the Court is requested to appoint an accounting expert to verify the accounting entries and provide information on the activity of the companies, merchandise, rates and vehicles, among other things; and an IT expert to extract data from the system of the companies and the Consortium, including details of loading, unloading, distribution, logistics control, and satellite tracking of vehicles.

This report, according to the mayors, will allow both districts to build an accurate diagnosis and establish the impact of port activity“We understand that it is essential to collect detailed information about the Port’s operations through the fiscal and logistical documentation that you provide us, in order to evaluate the current and future damage that the activity of the Port of Dock Sud causes to the streets of our districts,” he said. the mayor of Lanús Julian Alvarezwho also serves as regional director of the Consortium.

“Given this situation, we proposed to the Dock Sud Port Management Consortium the implementation of a Heavy Transit Network and the creation of a Compensatory Fund “to repair the damage caused over the years in both districts,” said the mayor regarding these requests that were approved by the Honorable Deliberative Council of Lanús and also of Quilmes.

Mayra Mendoza: “We have the support of the neighbors to intervene”

“Quilmes and Lanús are part of the port area, that is why since February of this year We have Julián Álvarez as the Director representing both municipalities. Our demand is that the damage caused to our streets, wiring, hydraulic works and even homes by trucks with tons greater than permitted is taken into account. We have the support of the residents and the commitment of the governor to intervene and ensure that there are no first and second class citizens,” said Mayra Mendoza.

In turn, Mayra Mendoza pointed out that “this is not a problem between individuals, and much less against the residents of Avellaneda. What we are looking for is a repair for the years of operation and no benefit for the community of Quilmes and Lanúswho transport merchandise for import and export, make huge profits and do not fulfill their basic obligations towards our municipalities. We want what is ours, as Avellaneda has, and we believe that the provincial government has to ensure the distribution of the port’s profits throughout the port area, that is, in Avellaneda, Lanús and Quilmes.”
