Madonna caused a stir at New York Fashion Week with a blazer dress with oversized shoulder pads.
Fashion Week in New York is in full swing and Madonna (66) is right in the middle of it. The pop star attracted everyone’s attention with her outfit at the Luar fashion show on Tuesday, especially her shoulders.
Madonna arrived at the Manhattan event in a beige blazer dress that was anything but subtle. With oversized shoulder pads, the buttoned dress evoked memories of the 1980s and made her waist look even slimmer.
Typical Madonna: latex gloves and fishnet tights
The rest of the outfit was less formal: shiny latex gloves that reached above the elbows, fishnet tights and black over-the-knee boots gave Madonna her typically wicked look. The singer also wore huge sunglasses that looked like they were made up of two pairs of glasses. Not much of the make-up was visible, and Madonna also styled her blonde hair simply open. A few thick chains around her neck and ears were a must, however.
Perhaps the striking sunglasses were also necessary to conceal any after-effects from Sunday. The singer was seen with her boyfriend Akeem Morris (28), who is 38 years younger than her, at a Fashion Week party in New York. Her relationship with the footballer was confirmed at the July 4th celebrations. This included a snapshot of the couple in an explicit pose on the sofa.
She appeared at Luar’s show alone. Of course, this did not detract from her dramatic performance.
