Comedian: After massive criticism: start of Mockridge tour cancelled

Luke Mockridge has been heavily criticized for his disparaging statements about disabled sports. Now the first performances of his planned tour have been canceled.

After the major criticism of comedian Luke Mockridge for his statements about disabled sports, the planned start of his “Funny Times” tour has been cancelled. The tour kick-off this Thursday in Bünde in East Westphalia and the second show on Friday in Paderborn will not take place, the tour organiser MTS live announced in response to a request. The cancellation was made “due to the current situation”.

Mockridge actually wanted to perform his show “Funny Times” in Germany and Austria around 30 times by November. It is still unclear whether further dates on the tour will be cancelled, MTS live announced.

The comedian had made derogatory comments about disabled sports in a podcast. After much criticism, he backtracked. “Of course, it was never my intention to ridicule people with disabilities – especially during these great Paralympic Games,” Mockridge wrote on Instagram.
