After Høiby’s release, the lawyer stated, according to a report in the Norwegian daily newspaper VG, that it was not true that Høiby had refused to comment to the police about the allegations. As the newspaper further reports, according to his lawyer, Høiby was hunting with friends when he was arrested.
Høiby wants nothing to do with the Sahce
Høiby told the police that he had nothing to do with the matter and that he was innocent. According to media reports, he was accused of violating a restraining order that was issued after his first arrest in early August. Norway’s public broadcaster, had reported that the charges against Høiby had been expanded to include several more counts and that another person had been given victim status in the case.
At the beginning of August, according to media reports, Marius Borg Høiby was arrested for assault and property damage after he allegedly became aggressive in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Oslo on the night of August 4. He was released from police custody the following day. The eldest son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit spoke out himself ten days after his arrest.
Høiby: “Something happened that should never have happened”
In a detailed statement, which was distributed via “NRK”, he admitted the allegations. “Last weekend something happened that should never have happened,” said the 27-year-old, who comes from a relationship before Mette-Marit’s marriage to Haakon of Norway (51), in his public apology.
He also wants to apologize to his family. He knows that his actions have affected them deeply: “So I apologize to you, my loved ones. This should never have happened and I take full responsibility for my actions.”
