“The Ghost” scandal
Achternbusch, who was born in Munich, grew up with his grandmother in the Bavarian Forest. His works include countless films, plays, books and paintings – including “Bierkampf” from the 1970s.
With “The Ghost” the director caused a real scandal in the early 80s and was accused of blasphemy. He was often compared to Karl Valentin (1882-1948). as one of the “most interesting and daring German directors” of the 1970s and 1980s.
