Stefan Raab’s boxing song “Pa aufs Maul” has barely been released and is already at number one in the iTunes charts.
After his TV comeback on September 14, Stefan Raab (57) is now making a comeback musically: The entertainment jack-of-all-trades is conquering the charts with his song “Pa aufs Maul”, which he performed live on RTL before his boxing match against Regina Halmich (47).
Just one day after its television premiere, the song topped the German iTunes charts on Sunday evening, leaving “The Emptiness Mach” by Linkin Park behind. Raab is receiving support for his musical return from Berlin rappers Sido (43) and Ski Aggu (26). They were also at the PSD Bankd Dome in Düsseldorf on Saturday evening. Before the three performed the song with the support of numerous dancers, fitness queen Pamela Reif (28) floated through the sold-out hall as an angel.
Training alone on the punching bag
After Raab had presented “Pa aufs Maul”, he showed off his eagerly awaited body. He took off his white suit and flexed his muscles on a podium high above the heads of around 13,500 visitors. The former “killer belly” had steeled himself in the run-up to the third encounter with former boxing world champion Regina Halmich.
“I did it all myself. I watched videos on the Internet and bought a sack – 45 kilos – from a boxing supply store,” revealed the former “tv total” host in the subsequent press conference. Only in the last month before the fight did he get help from boxer Nelvie Tiafack (25) for his training. Thanks to a strict diet, he lost ten kilos, so that he finally entered the ring at a fighting weight of 85 kilos: “I only ate chicken and salad and drank water.”
However, his trained body didn’t do him much good: although he survived all six rounds against Halmich, he quickly ran out of breath. In terms of boxing, the 51 kg woman was far superior to her opponent and once again emerged victorious.
New streaming show from September 18th
The boxing match marks Raab’s big TV comeback after almost ten years of being absent from the screen. After the defeat, he announced that he was keen on doing shows again and had signed up for five years with RTL. From September 18th, the game show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab” will be broadcast on RTL+ every Wednesday from 8:10 p.m.
