Whether “Big Little Lies” or “Modern Family”: The Emmy Awards brought together the casts of numerous hit series on September 15th.
Big reunion at the 76th Emmy Awards on September 15th in Los Angeles. At the Peacock Theater, one or two stars had the opportunity to meet their TV family again. Most notably Reese Witherspoon (48) and Laura Dern (57) from “Big Little Lies”, who also talked about a continuation of the drama series.
Third season of “Big Little Lies”: “We’re working on it”
The second and so far last season of “Big Little Lies” aired five years ago. But Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern are obviously still well-matched: The long-time friends wore chic black ensembles for their reunion on the red carpet. Witherspoon appeared in Dior, Dern Gabriela in Hearst.
But it wasn’t just their glamorous styling that caused excitement: The actresses talked about the planned third season. Witherspoon revealed: “We’re working on it. It’s going to be so incredible, we just have to write all the scripts.” She is looking forward to being in front of the camera again with Dern and the other colleagues: “Working with our friends is a high priority for us, we’ve already done so many things and we’re all trying to get back together because it’s such a special show and we have such special friendships.”

Sofía Vergara (52) also met old acquaintances again on Sunday evening. On her Instagram page, she shared numerous photos and videos of her best moments from the event, which honors the best TV productions. “I didn’t get an Emmy, but I did get a hamburger,” she said in a clip showing her eating.
She posed laughing with “America’s Got Talent” BFF Heidi Klum (51). And in the hall behind her sat her former “Modern Family” co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (48) and his husband Justin Mikita (39), with whom she quickly took a selfie to capture the reunion.

There were other cast reunions at the Emmy Awards: The crew of “The West Wing” (1999-2006) came together on stage and reminded viewers to vote. Co-host Eugene Levy (77) and his TV wife Catherine O’Hara (70) laughed side by side with their “Schitt’s Creek” children Annie Murphy (37) and Dan Levy (41). Melissa Peterman (53) and Reba McEntire (69) played in the sitcom “Reba” (2001-2006) and have another joint project with the upcoming NBC sitcom “Happy’s Place”.
