Campbell’s revamps its name after 155 years to reflect product diversity

The renowned company is seeking to better reflect its new catalogue. It is a strategic move that will allow it to reposition itself and better adapt to market demands.

The iconic company Campbellworldwide famous for its soups and known for being part of the work of pop artist Andy Warholhas decided to change its name. Starting in November, if the shareholders approve it, it will be called Campbell’s CoAccording to CEO Mark Clouse, this transformation seeks better reflect the diversity of products that the company offers today, beyond its classic line of soups.

Over the years, Campbell has expanded its product portfolio. It currently owns popular brands such as Prego sauce and Goldfish crackers. In addition, in 2023 it acquired Sovos Brands, known for the successful Rao pasta sauces, consolidating its position in the food sector.

This renaming trend has been adopted by other large companies, such as Dunkin (formerly Dunkin Donuts) and Krispy Kremewhich eliminated the product with which they initially became known from their brand, seeking to reflect their evolution and diversification.
