Prince Harry: Was Meghan cut out of the birthday photo?

The Royal Family congratulated Prince Harry on his 40th birthday with a photo and a few warm words. However, the picture that the family members chose caused a stir.

Prince Harry celebrated his big birthday on Sunday. The Duke of Sussex, who many traditional royalists would probably describe as the biggest troublemaker in the British monarchy, is now 40 years old. And while Harry’s wife, Duchess Meghan, who is unpopular with many Britons, was not publicly honored by the Royal Family on her birthday in early August, Harry was at least able to enjoy congratulations from home.

Congratulations to Prince Harry without Meghan

“We wish the Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday!” was the message on the Royal Family’s social media channels. The people in charge posted a photo of a cheerful and laughing prince. What immediately caught the eye of those in the know, however, was that Meghan, who was actually sitting next to Harry at the event where the photo was taken, was missing from the photo.

The picture was taken in July 2018 during a visit by the couple to Ireland. The two visited a co-working space for tech start-ups in the Irish capital Dublin.

The fact that the family only posted a clip without Meghan caused a stir within a short time.

Posting as a peace offering?

But was there really an overzealous employee in the palace who was supposed to use Photoshop to remove the presumably unpopular Meghan from the photo? Not quite. A quick search in the photo databases shows that the individual photo of Harry is there, as is the version in which Meghan can be seen with him.

Since Harry and Meghan’s exit from royal life and the many interviews in which Harry has spoken about his family, every post from both sides has been dissected and examined with great interest for secret messages. It remains to be seen whether the birthday greeting to the king’s son was a peace offering or nothing more than a dutiful gesture.
