Udo Lindenberg has achieved an art value of over 200,000 euros. He auctioned the picture as part of a fundraising campaign for flood victims.
Udo Lindenberg (75) was able to achieve 211,200 euros for victims of the flood disaster with a self-painted work of art. The picture “We are all in the same boat” shows a ship with a rainbow flag and a sail with a peace sign sailing across the water. Udo Lindenberg himself is depicted twice on it: once on the sail mast and on the bow of the boat, where he symbolically pulls a plug. “Ahoy. We stick together” is the message on the artwork.
The singer painted the picture as part of a fundraising campaign by ARD, which hosted a live broadcast for the benefit of the victims of the flood disaster. “I’m delighted with this mega auction result! It’s great to have been part of this great relief effort – and on it goes, dear people, we have to stay at the start here in solidarity over the long term – and immediately start with a consistent new climate policy,” the musician appeals to in a press release.
So far, 57 million euros in donations collected
The work of art was sold on the website “unitedcharity.de”, through which many other celebrities also auction valuable and personal items. In the end, a bidder from Haan in North Rhine-Westphalia was happy about the painting.
In total, the ARD donation campaign “We hold together” for the “Aktion Deutschland Hilft – Alliance of German Aid Actions” has raised over 57 million euros so far. Last Friday (July 23) alone, more than 16.5 million euros were donated after several ARD radio and TV stations were called.
