The RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (“DSDS”) starts its new season this Wednesday (8:15 p.m.). There are several notable new features in the 21st round. For example, the start date is unusually early this time.
The oldest candidate is 92
In addition, the age limit has been dropped: everyone over the age of 16 can take part. The oldest candidate in the casting is 92 years old. According to RTL, there were more than 10,000 applicants for the season – and almost half were over 30 years old.
What is also striking is that the television giant RTL is competing with itself. Stefan Raab’s new show starts almost simultaneously at 8:10 p.m. on the in-house streaming service RTL+. It is called “You won’t win the million here with Stefan Raab”.
This “DSDS” season has 15 episodes, including a big live finale in Cologne. The jury consists of Dieter Bohlen, Pietro Lombardi, Beatrice Egli and Loredana. For the first time, an amusement park serves as the backdrop for the casting – the Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg. This time, the overseas recall will take place on the Greek Mediterranean island of Crete.

Her perception: “I can give many people goosebumps with my voice.” She has been passionate about making music for 20 years and loves the spotlight.
Florian Rateuke (26) from Berlin performs “Icecream” by twenty4tim. He is on DSDS because he is sure that he will win – after all, he is supposedly a clairvoyant and received his DSDS assignment “from above”! He has “contact with angels” and constantly receives information from the spiritual world. He discovered his gift when he predicted his grandmother’s death as a child.
