The Ministry of Human Capital has ordered a 75% increase in Progresar Scholarships, which will begin to be paid this month. It has also opened a new registration period.

This September, they will increase by 75% and the amount to be charged will go from $20,000 to $35,000. At the same time, they launched the second period of registration for the program.
The increase was made official through the RSolution 888/2024 published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette. The lines of the stimulus program are: Compulsory Progress; Higher Progress; Nursing Progress and Work Progress.
Regarding the new call, the Secretariat dependent on Human Capital stressed the need to open a second registration “to better meet the program’s objectives and strengthen the educational paths of its beneficiaries”.
Progresar Scholarships: How much will I receive in September 2024?
From September, beneficiaries will receive a 75% increase in the Progresar Scholarships. The amounts and lines of the program are as follows
- Progress Mandatory (includes Progresar 16 and 17 years): designed for students of the primary and secondary level. Attendance is $35,000.
- Progress Superiorr: for students studying courses in the higher, tertiary or university level. The amount is $35,000.
- Progress in Nursing: for higher level students who are studying Nursing, the scholarship goes from $35,000.
- Progress Work: for people who perform vocational training courses. Attendance is $35,000.
Meanwhile, the payment schedule of the Progresar Scholarships began on Thursday, September 12.
Until when is there time to register for the Progresar Scholarships?
The Progresar Scholarships provide an economic stimulus for young people aged 18 to 24 to complete compulsory education and advance in secondary, tertiary or university studies. Below are the deadlines to register for the various lines of the program:
- Until the September 30th will be enabled for the lines Progress Mandatory, Progress Higher and Progress in Nursing.
- The call for the line of Progress Work will extend until the November 30th.
Progresar Scholarships 2024: what are the requirements to access them?
There are several requirements to access the Progresar ScholarshipsThe applicants’ family income must not exceed three minimum wages, that is, a total of $804,169.50. They must also prove regular attendance at an educational institution and meet the academic progress requirements for each line.
Likewise, those who want to access the scholarship for the first time, They must meet the requirement of 50% of subjects approved of the study plan completed in 2023 and will receive the full monthly amount of the scholarship. There are various scholarship options in the program. These are:
- Progress Mandatory: students must be between 16 and 24 years old. At the compulsory level, the path must not be interrupted. On the other hand, the Compulsory Progress scholarship holders between 16 and 18 years old who are finishing secondary school must take the Vocational and Work Orientation Course as a requirement for receiving the full scholarship.
- Progress in Higher Education and Progress in Nursing: between 17 to 24 years old or up to 30 if they are advanced in their career (There is no age limit for Nursing.) At the higher level, advanced students will have to pass a minimum requirement of 2 subjects from the previous year.
- Progress Work: must be between 18 and 24 years old or up to 40 for those who do not have formal registered work.
