He Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires decided to increase in September the value of the Fixed Unit (UF), a parameter used to calculate the amounts of the fines and traffic violations. This means that from the beginning of the month, all traffic violations are much more expensive.

This was signed according to Regulatory Decree 64/22 and will remain in effect until the first quarter of 2025. Currently, one of the most expensive violations is speeding when going over 150 km per hour. Such a fine can reach almost two million pesos since it is considered to be lethal to the life of a third party.

How the value of the Fixed Unit is calculated for fines in CABA

Fines are calculated based on the value of the Fixed Unit and these are calculated based on the value equivalent to half a liter of higher octane gasoline reported by the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA) Headquarters for six-month periods.
