Why is Retiree’s Day celebrated every September 20?

The date is inspired by September 20, 1904, which was the day that Julio Argentino Roca sanctioned law n° 4.349Known as the first retirement law in Argentina, this resolution recognized the Pension Benefit for public employees of the Nation.

Both civil servants and civil agents were able to access a retirement contribution system thanks to it. This is how the fund was created that would contribute to people’s retirement. That same year the National Civil Retirement and Pension Fund was created. Although it initially included state and railway workers, it was later expanded to other activities such as aeronautics, banking, labor, journalists, among others.
