Actor Heinz Hoenig is back home after about five months in a Berlin hospital. The film star’s wife, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39), told the newspaper: “Heinz was really happy. At first he could hardly believe that he was finally back home. Together with two very good friends, our boys and my daughter, we gave him a warm welcome.” Juliano and Jianni “didn’t leave their father’s side at all. They really missed him very much.”
The family lives in Blankenburg in the Harz Mountains. Annika Kärsten-Hoenig is a trained nurse and, according to the report, will initially take care of her husband herself.
Heinz Hoenig has been in hospital since May
The 72-year-old was hospitalized in May with heart problems. The actor later underwent an operation on his esophagus. Heinz Hoenig is currently still waiting for an operation on his aorta. This can only be carried out under optimal conditions. “And it will certainly be months before that can happen,” the actor’s wife told “Bild”.
Heinz Hoenig, who became known through films and series such as “Das Boot” (1981), “Der Schattenmann” (1996) and “Der König von St. Pauli” (1998), and Annika Kärsten-Hoenig have been married since 2019. Their two sons were born in 2020 and 2022.
