Ricardo Daniel Carías was born on August 1, 1967 in San Martín, Mendoza. He was the father of two children, Daniela and Leandro, from his 20-year marriage with Monica Faleroin addition to Camila and Mia, the result of his relationship with Sol Fiasche.
His media career
In 1990 he began his media career when he was selected to co-host a tropical music program. In 1999, he became the face of ““Tropical Passion” on Azul TV, and later hosted the popular show “Saturday Passion” on América TV until 2005.
His rise to fame was alongside Rodrigo Buenobeing one of its presenters. La Tota also recorded several albums throughout his career, highlighting albums such as “Los éxitos de la Tota” (2000), “XXL” (2001), and “Tú vives en mí” (2008).
He also participated in programs such as Cantando por un sueño and Bailando por un sueño, as a guest and as a competitor in several editions; and he even ventured into theater, summoned by Gerardo Sofovich for the work “Poor but almost honest”.
In 2023, Santillán was sentenced to five years and six months in prison for exercising gender violence and threatening his ex-partnerSol Fiasche.
