Robbie Williams is said to have been offered his own Las Vegas residency. But the singer apparently turned down the deal.
Was he offered a mega deal in the City of Lights? Robbie Williams (50) is said to have had the chance to perform at the legendary Club Voltaire in Las Vegas. But the British music star apparently turned down the offer.
The team at the club, where Kylie Minogue (56) performed her big series of shows, is said to admire William “both professionally and personally,” an insider told the “Sun.” “They love his music and his stagecraft and thought that his super stage personality and charisma would be a perfect fit for them. But when they made the offer, Rob turned it down.” The operators were very disappointed “as the tickets would have sold out immediately. But Robbie seems to want to approach his next steps a little more cautiously.” “The Sun” speculates that Williams wants to negotiate a more lucrative deal if his biopic “Better Man” is a success.
Biopic announced
The musical biopic, directed by Michael Gracey, shows Williams’ rise from the bad boy of the British boy band Take That to a superstar among solo artists. His long-term drug and alcohol consumption as well as his struggles with depression and anxiety will also be addressed. The biopic’s German cinema release is scheduled for January 2025.
Williams is certainly willing to win new fans in the USA. The musician, who lived in Los Angeles for many years, was able to walk down the street like a normal person for a long time. “I am completely anonymous there and I had no intention of changing that until now,” William said last August. “And now I really want that to change.”
He moved to LA “so I could be Bruce Wayne in America and Batman everywhere else,” Williams continued. “I needed a place where I could retreat and not be recognized, and I did that. But now I’m old and wise enough to want to experience incredible success again. And maybe that would be in America. I would like to enjoy that kind of success as an adult, rather than as a teenager who couldn’t feel joy because of his mental problems.”
