Rape allegations: New civil lawsuit against Sean Combs alleging rape

Music star Sean Combs is said to have coerced women into having sex for decades. He was arrested last week. Now there is another civil lawsuit against the rapper with allegations of rape.

Another civil suit for sexual violence has now been filed against the arrested US rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs (54), who is accused of human trafficking for sex and organized crime. The plaintiff’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, filed the suit in New York. The allegations include rape, forced oral sex and the creation of video recordings of the brutal incident, which were later published by Combs and sold as pornography. Allred and the plaintiff spoke at a joint press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday (local time).

Plaintiff speaks through tears

According to the report, the incident occurred in New York in 2001. The lawsuit is directed against Combs and one of his employees. The woman, who was 25 at the time, claims in the lawsuit that she was lured into Combs’ studio under false pretenses. There she lost consciousness after drinking a drink that was presumably laced with drugs. She was tied up and then brutally abused by both men. She did not go to the police at the time out of fear of possible pressure from Combs, US media quote from the lawsuit.

In tears, the plaintiff spoke at the press conference about physical pain, emotional scars, depression and anxiety as a result of the incident. In the civil suit, attorney Allred is demanding compensation and punitive damages for her client in an undisclosed amount.

Arrest of Combs

Combs was arrested in New York last week. The federal prosecutors’ charges against the rapper show that Combs abused, threatened and coerced women over decades to fulfill his sexual desires and then remain silent so as not to damage his reputation. The rapper pleaded not guilty. If found guilty on some or all counts, he faces life imprisonment. His lawyers failed in their bid to get Combs released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on bail of millions of dollars.

Allegations against Combs

Since last year, several civil suits have been filed against Combs (“Bad Boy for Life”, “I’ll Be Missing You”) for rape and abuse. In March, raids in Los Angeles and Miami made headlines. US investigators searched the rapper’s houses there.

In May, CNN released a video that allegedly showed Combs attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016. The rapper then publicly apologized.

In a civil lawsuit filed in 2023, the singer accused the musician of, among other things, sexual abuse, rape, intimidation and physical violence during their long-term relationship. There was no trial, but a settlement. Combs denied the allegations at the time.
